Mythos by Sam Wooding
Mythos is a book dedicated to a principle that is becoming forgotten in mentalism: the Centre Tear.
In this book, you will learn two exciting CT's -- one is called "Typhon," and another is called "Typhon 2.0". (Typhon was originally called "The Icy Tear").
You will learn many fascinating effects from this book:
-- Four new routines including a Living And Dead test, with no pencil reading or feeling for marks (Abaddon).
-- A mystifying routine whereby the spectator reads your mind, and then you read the spectator's mind (Medusa).
-- A fantastic routine, as follows. The spectator is shown 26 cards -- on 13 of those cards, there are random words. On the other 13 are ways to destroy paper. One spectator selects from one pile, another spectator selects from the other pile. The performer asks the first spectator to merely think of the first word that pops in their mind when they see whatever random word they picked. The performer asks the other spectator to demonstrate to the audience the action depicted for destroying paper. The first spectator writes down the thought-of word, and the action is subsequently done to the paper. The performer reveals the thought (Orthrus). (This uses a new mentalism principle.)
-- A routine whereby the spectator thinks of a dream. On a piece of paper, they write a word that represents that dream. The paper is given to the performer, and the performer tears it up. The performer then divines the dream in full detail, including what they saw in the dream, who was in it, etc. The performer finally and amazingly divines the word. (This routine is called Cerebus, originally published as The Serial in a limited edition set.)
