Not if you don't want to. There are lots of methods， but the best one involves nothing at in (or on) your hands.

Any limitation as in the colour of the jeans or trousers?

Nope. Works fine with any colour jeans or trousers

Even if I'm not wearing jeans just trousers?

It's also possible with trousers

Once the gimmick has been customized for a certain colour/type of trousers， can it be "re-customized" to match another or does it remained fixed thereafter?
You can re-customize it very easy， but there will be no need for it because Merchant of Magic include 2 gimmicks!

"The reset is truly seconds and the original set up is not unreasonable.
To be super critical it is a true "moment of astonishment" type effect， it is over in second and you must choose your moment. There is most assuredly no alteration to your clothes but the set up that you wear to perform the "classic" version (several alternative are taught) may not suit everyone as a "have it with you at all times" sort of effect. You may not want to have a credit card or keys etc. around part of the gimmick as the creator accurately states in the instructions.
