Make Do and Mend was a philosophy, during World War II, of repairing clothes, reusing household items, etc. that would normally be discarded due to shortages and rationing. In the same way the public were encouraged to reuse and recycle in War torn Britain, people are taking up the Make Do and Mend mentality in this post-recession economy of the early 21st Century. So it is with a stiff-upper-lip that I present to you my own Make Do and Mentalism philosophy; methods for re-creating either somewhat expensive gimmicks, making your own less-than-efficient props, and recycling items you probably already have or will not cost you much to buy for various Mentalism routines.
In this modest 30 page eBook we have:
Miser’s Peek Wallet
This super-cheap method to turn practically any wallet into a Peek Device of sorts.
Natural State Add-A-Number Pad
A near self-working switchpad that requires hardly any preparation as it uses nothing more than the natural characteristics of a certain type of notepad.
Smart Index
Saving you money and pocket space this simple pocket index idea utilises something you almost certainly carry around with you every day.
Cheap Date
This is a bold ruse that can be used in place of a Lover’s Lock style routine in which an audience member, or several, seemingly guess the code to open a combination lock.
Plus a couple of bonus tips and ideas along the way.
